How Each Test Works
Four focused modes, one workspace. Each test measures a different way you interact with text.
Typing Test
Type the on-screen sample exactly as shown. WPM and accuracy update with every keystroke; finishing the sample locks in your score and may unlock the next difficulty.
Reading Test
Use your own passage. Start the timer, read naturally, stop when done. WPM comes from the passage word count divided by your elapsed time.
Speaking Test
Read your passage aloud with the manual timer running. The result is an estimated speaking rate — no microphone or speech recognition is involved.
Practice Text
Analyze counts, sort lines, remove duplicates, or change case — then send the cleaned passage into the reading or speaking test with one click.
What WPM means here
Words per minute. For typing, a "word" is standardized to 5 characters including spaces so scores compare fairly across samples. Reading and speaking use the whitespace-separated word count of your passage.
Why accuracy matters
Typing accuracy is the share of correctly typed characters. Typing WPM is reported from characters typed, while accuracy is tracked separately — harder levels require 80%+ accuracy to encourage accurate typing.

Hard / Very Hard buttons are greyed out
Levels unlock in order: finish Easy with 80%+ accuracy to unlock Hard, then Hard with 80%+ for Very Hard. Unlocks are stored in your browser, so clearing site data re-locks them.
Typing test shows 0 WPM
WPM appears after about half a second of typing. Make sure you pressed Start first — the input box stays disabled until the test is active.
Reading or speaking WPM looks wrong
Both tests rely on your Start/Stop clicks. Starting late or stopping early skews the result. Also confirm the passage word count is not 0 before starting.
"Send to Reading/Speaking Test" did nothing
It sends the processed text from the Practice Text tab. If you have not clicked Analyze or Apply yet, type or paste text first, then use Analyze before sending.

Your speaking rate in WPM is calculated from the elapsed time and word count, along with a performance category and pacing tips.
Are my texts and results stored anywhere?
No, the tool operates entirely within your browser. Text inputs and test results are never sent to or stored on any server. Only unlocked typing difficulty levels are saved locally for convenience.
