Troubleshooting
Common issues & quick fixes
One of my batch downloads wasn't a sketch
That image was likely still at Sketch Detail = 0 when you clicked Download All Sketches, so it downloaded as an unmodified copy.
- Set every image's slider above 0 before using batch download
Some of my images were rejected
An upload is rejected as a whole if it would push your total past 5 images, or if a single file is over 10MB.
- Upload in smaller batches, or compress large files first
My sketch looks too faint or too dark
The Sketch Detail slider controls blur intensity, which directly affects how light or heavy the lines appear.
- Try a lower value for finer lines, or a higher one for bolder shading
The preview feels slow while dragging
The preview always renders at your photo's full resolution internally, so very large source photos may lag slightly.
- Downscaling extremely large photos first can help
My download doesn't look sketched at all
Check the slider position for that specific image — 0 always exports your original, untouched photo.
- Move the slider above 0 before downloading
My uploads disappeared
Nothing is saved between visits — refreshing or closing the tab clears your uploads and edits.

Are my photos safe when using this tool?
Image processing happens directly in your browser. The tool does not upload your selected images to our server as part of the sketch workflow.
What image formats are supported?
We support major image formats including JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF, and SVG. You can turn any of these into a sketch.
Will the sketch have the same resolution as my original photo?
Yes, the output sketch is generated at the full resolution of your original image, ensuring it is high-quality and suitable for printing.
Can I convert multiple photos at once?
Yes. You can upload up to 5 photos at a time, with each image being up to 10 MB in size. Every photo has its own sketch controls, allowing you to adjust the sketch detail individually. When you're finished, use Download All Sketches to automatically download each processed sketch one by one in your selected format.
Can I undo the sketch effect?
Yes. Within the tool, you can simply move the "Sketch Detail" slider back to 0 at any time to remove the effect and see your original photo. Your original file on your computer is never changed.
Can I use my sketch for printing?
Yes. You can download your finished sketch in high-quality JPG, PNG, or WEBP format for printing, framing, artwork, or personal projects.
Which types of photos produce the best sketch results?
Sharp, high-resolution photos with good lighting, strong contrast, and a clear subject generally create the most detailed pencil sketches.
How does the photo to sketch conversion work?
Our tool uses a digital image processing technique. It first converts the image to grayscale, inverts the colors, and applies a blur. It then blends this layer with the original grayscale image using a "color dodge" method to create the sharp, pencil-like lines of a sketch.
