What this delivery challan generator does, and what it doesn't
✓What it does
- Makes a complete delivery challan: your letterhead and GSTIN, the consignee, a separate delivery address, purpose, items with HSN and quantity, transport details and signatures, on A4 pages you see as you type.
- Totals the quantity unit by unit, for example 750 Nos + 40 Kg. Rates and value are optional and off by default.
- Labels each copy: Original for consignee, Duplicate for transporter, Triplicate for consignor.
- Checks it before dispatch: challan number length, GST type against both GSTINs, e-way bill above ₹50,000, job work and approval time limits.
- Stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Download a real Word .docx file or a PDF.
✕What it doesn't do
- Replace a tax invoice. When goods are sold, you still need a tax invoice; use our Invoice Generator.
- Make an e-way bill. Generate it on the government e-way bill portal and type its number here.
- Decide the GST treatment of your movement of goods. Check job work, approval and branch transfers with your accountant.

Frequently asked questions
Is this delivery challan generator free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. Everything is made in your browser, including the Word and PDF files.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Consignee details, rates, logo and signature stay in your browser. Your last challans are saved only in this browser, so clearing your browser data removes them.
When is a delivery challan used?
When goods move without a sale at that moment, or when the invoice cannot go with the goods. Common cases are job work, goods sent on approval, goods for repair, exhibitions, transfers to another branch, and a sale delivered in several lots. Under GST these cases are covered by Rule 55 of the CGST Rules.
Is a delivery challan the same as a tax invoice?
No. A delivery challan records that goods were sent and received; it does not ask for payment. When the goods are sold, you must also issue a tax invoice.
What must a delivery challan show under GST?
A running number of up to 16 characters, the date, the name, address and GSTIN of the consignor and the consignee (if registered), the HSN code and description, quantity, taxable value, the tax rate and amount where the goods move for a supply, the place of supply for inter-state movement, and a signature. It is made in three copies.
Do I need an e-way bill with a delivery challan?
Usually yes when the value of goods moved by road is more than ₹50,000. For goods sent to a job worker in another state, an e-way bill is needed whatever the value. Make the e-way bill on the government portal and type its number on the challan.
Why three copies?
GST rules ask for three: the Original goes to the consignee, the Duplicate travels with the transporter, and the Triplicate stays with you. Choose the copy label in section 1 and print or download once for each.
Can I change the design and download Word?
Yes. Open Design and pick one of 5 ready-made styles, then change any part: font, size, colours, background, spacing, alignment and borders. Download a real Word .docx file, or choose PDF / Print and Save as PDF.
