What is an IP Location Finder?

Estimates the approximate geographic details associated with an IP address or domain using global IP allocation registries.

The Internet's Address Book

Every device connected to the public internet uses an IP address—and those blocks are registered by organizations in specific geographic regions. IP geolocation databases map IP address ranges to estimated physical regions: country, state, and city. When you look up a domain, our tool resolves the domain to its current DNS-resolved IP address, then queries a geolocation database for the mapped details.

Server Network vs User Location

This tool references the network-associated information for the destination IP—not where individual users live. A website hosted on a server network in Germany will display German location details, even if most of its actual visitors reside elsewhere. Physical user tracking is not possible with simple IP metadata.

How Precise Is It?

IP geolocation is generally reliable at the country level, but can be highly variable at the city level. It represents the regional network location or routing node of the internet service provider (ISP), and must never be relied upon for precise physical address tracking.
