Choosing an export format
This tool has no background-color setting at all — the blur is drawn straight onto the canvas, so any transparency in your original file is entirely at the mercy of the export format.

This tool uses the Canvas API's built-in filter property to blur the image as it's drawn. Nothing is uploaded as part of this workflow.

Common issues & quick fixes
Blurred JPEG shows black where the image was transparent
This tool has no background-fill step at all, so a transparent PNG exported as JPEG typically turns those areas black rather than white.
- Export as PNG or WEBP if transparency needs to be kept
- Flatten the image onto a solid background before uploading if JPEG is required
An uploaded file has no preview
Upload only checks that the file's type starts with "image/" — a HEIC or TIFF file can pass that check but still fail to render, since this tool has no decoder for those formats.
- Convert to JPG or PNG first, then upload here
- Stick to JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF, or SVG for reliable results
I only want to blur part of the image
This tool applies blur uniformly across the whole image — there's no selection tool or region masking.
- Use a dedicated photo editor if you need to blur just a background or one area
- This tool is best suited to whole-image softening or full obscuring
"File is not a supported image format" alert
The uploaded file's type didn't register as an image in your browser.

What image formats are supported?
You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF (non-animated), and SVG. You can apply a blur effect to any of these formats, and export as JPEG, PNG, or WEBP.
Does blurring an image reduce its quality?
The blur effect is applied without reducing the original resolution of your image. When you download, you can choose the output format and quality setting to get the result you want.
Can I blur multiple images at once?
You can upload up to 5 images and set each one's blur amount individually, then use Download All to download every image in sequence.
Can I remove the blur effect?
Yes. Move the Blur Intensity slider back to 0 at any time to remove the effect and see the original, sharp image. Your original file on your computer is never altered.
How does the blur effect work?
The blur is applied directly on a canvas in your browser using its built-in filter capability, which makes it fast and responsive.
Can I blur just part of my image, like the background?
Not currently. This tool applies blur uniformly across the entire image. Selective or region-based blurring isn't supported yet.
