What each control actually does

Choosing an export format
Flipping doesn't reshape the canvas the way rotating does — the only area at risk is the Margin you add, if any, so that's what changes between formats below.

Troubleshooting
Common issues & quick fixes
Flipped JPEG or BMP has black borders
With Background left on Transparent, exporting to a format with no alpha channel (JPEG or BMP) typically fills those areas with black rather than white.
- Switch Background to Solid and pick a color before flipping
- Or export as PNG or WEBP if transparency needs to be kept
Clicking Flip Horizontal a second time undoes it
Each flip direction is an on/off toggle, not a repeating action — clicking it again reverses that axis rather than flipping further.
- Use Flip Horizontal and Flip Vertical together for a combined effect
- This is the built-in way to undo a single-axis flip
Changed the background or margin but nothing updates
Background, margin, format, and quality changes are staged — they take effect once you press Apply Flip, not the moment you change them.
- Press Apply Flip after adjusting canvas or output settings
- The flip direction buttons also trigger this automatically
Batch Operations panel isn't showing
It only appears once 2 or more images are uploaded in the same session.
- Add a second image to reveal batch controls
- With a single image, use that card's own flip controls
Only one file downloads from Download All
Triggering several downloads back-to-back can hit your browser's own multiple-download permission prompt.
- Check for a blocked-download or permission notice near the address bar
- Allow multiple downloads for this site, then try again
"Download" says to flip first
A card's Download button needs at least one successful flip or Apply Flip result to have a file ready.
- Press a flip direction or Apply Flip at least once
- Check the card's Status line for "Ready" vs "Flipped"

Is my data secure when using this tool?
Yes. All image processing happens entirely in your browser — no files are uploaded to any server.
What image formats are supported?
You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF (non-animated), and SVG. You can export the flipped image as JPEG, PNG, WEBP, or BMP.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, the maximum file size is 10 MB per image, and you can upload up to 5 images at once.
Does flipping affect image quality?
Flipping horizontally or vertically is a lossless geometric operation. Output quality then depends on your chosen export format and quality setting — JPEG and WEBP allow adjustable compression, while PNG preserves quality exactly.
Can I flip multiple images with the same action?
Yes. Once you've uploaded 2 or more images, Batch Operations lets you flip every image horizontally or vertically in one click.
What do the canvas options do?
Background sets a solid color or leaves the canvas transparent, and Margin adds uniform padding around the flipped image.
Can I undo a flip?
Yes. Clicking the same flip direction again reverses it — flipping horizontally twice returns to the original. Each image also has a Reset button that reloads it fresh from the original file.
