AI Visibility Checker: Is Your Page Ready for AI Answers?

Check one page the way AI search bots see it: can ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google read it, is the text in the HTML, and is it easy to quote and trust? Get a clear list of fixes, with optional AI suggestions.

Which page?

Or paste the page source

For pages behind a login, on your computer, or if the check can't reach your site. In your browser, open the page, press Ctrl+U (Cmd+Option+U on Mac), select all and copy.

Privacy: we read the public page and its robots.txt on our server and check them in your browser. Nothing is stored. AI suggestions, if you ask for them, send the page's text to Google Gemini or OpenRouter.

How ready is it for AI answers?

Enter a page and press Check this page. You'll see whether AI search bots may read it, whether its text is easy to quote, and what to fix first.

Honest by design

What this checker does, and what it doesn't

AI search is new and nobody outside the AI companies knows exactly how pages are chosen. Here is what can and can't be checked.

What it does

  • Checks access: what your robots.txt, meta robots and X-Robots-Tag tell ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Google and Bing bots about this page.
  • Checks readability for machines: whether the text is in the HTML or only appears after JavaScript runs, which many AI crawlers don't do.
  • Checks structure: headings, question headings, an answer near the top, short paragraphs, lists, tables and FAQs.
  • Checks trust signals: author, dates, structured data, sources and contact pages.
  • Suggests fixes with optional AI, using only what's on your page.

What it doesn't do

  • Tell you if you appear in ChatGPT, Gemini or AI Overviews. There is no public way to check that, and answers change from person to person.
  • Promise more traffic. The score is a checklist of good practice, not a ranking factor list from any AI company.
  • Judge if your content is good or true. Useful, original and accurate content still matters most.
  • Run JavaScript. It reads the page the way most AI crawlers do, so it may miss text that only appears in a browser.
  • Check pages behind a login. Paste the page source instead.
The checklist

What makes a page easy for AI to use

The same habits that help readers skim also help AI tools find, understand and quote a page.

Let search bots in

Blocking OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot or Claude-SearchBot keeps you out of those AI answers. Blocking only training bots like GPTBot doesn't.

Answer first

Open with a short, direct answer of 40 to 60 words, then explain. It is easy to quote.

Good"An llms.txt file is…" in the first line

Headings people would ask

Use H2s that match real questions, such as "How long does it take?".

GoodH2: How much does it cost?

Text in the HTML

Many AI crawlers don't run JavaScript. Main content that only appears after scripts run may be invisible to them.

RiskEmpty page until the app loads

Show who and when

A named author, a clear updated date and Article or Organization structured data help readers and machines trust the page.

How to use the AI visibility checker

  1. Enter a page

Use a full address of an important page, such as a guide or a product page, not only your home page.

  2. Read the bot table

If an AI search bot is blocked, fix your robots.txt first. Nothing else matters if bots can't read the page.

  3. Fix the red items

Start with the checks marked Fix, then the ones marked Improve.

  4. Ask for AI suggestions

Optional: get a direct opening answer, missing questions and specific fixes.

  5. Check again

Clear your cache after changes, then check the page again.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can this tool tell me if my page shows up in ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews?

No, and no honest tool can. There is no public data on which pages AI assistants quote, and answers change from person to person. This checker tells you whether AI bots are allowed to read the page and whether it is built in a way that makes it easy to understand and quote.

What is GEO?

Generative engine optimization (GEO), also called AEO or AI SEO, means making content easy for AI assistants and AI search to find, understand and cite. Most of it is good SEO and clear writing: allow the right bots, answer questions directly, structure the page and show who wrote it and when.

Which bots matter most for AI answers?

Search bots such as OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search), Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot (Google Search and AI Overviews) and Bingbot (Bing and Copilot). Training bots such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended only affect training; blocking them doesn't remove you from AI search.

Why does the checker warn about JavaScript?

Many AI crawlers read the HTML your server sends and don't run JavaScript. If your main text only appears after scripts run, those crawlers may see an almost empty page. Server-side rendering or a static version fixes this.

How is the readiness score worked out?

Each check has a weight; Good counts fully, Improve counts half and Fix counts zero. Access and readable text weigh most. It is our checklist of public best practice, not a formula used by any AI company.

What do the AI suggestions use?

The page's title, headings, the problems found and up to about 8,000 characters of its text are sent to Google Gemini, or OpenRouter if Gemini is busy, or straight from your browser to the AI if you add your own key. The AI is told to use only facts from your page.

Is anything stored?

No. The page and its robots.txt are read on our server for this check only and cached for 10 minutes so repeated checks are fast. Results are shown in your browser and not saved.

Why can't it read my page?

Some sites block unknown visitors, need a login, or take too long to answer. Open the page in your browser, press Ctrl+U to see its source, copy it, and use "Or paste the page source".
