Image Collage Maker

There are 16 supplied templates: 12 regular grid/strip arrangements and four asymmetric layouts. The template filter only changes the choices displayed. You can also create a custom grid with 1–10 columns and 1–10 rows, up to 100 cells. These are layout templates, not themed stock-photo packs.

Upload up to 12 library photos. Each file must be at most 10 MiB, 20 million pixels and 16,384 pixels per side. PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, BMP and GIF require browser decoding support. Animated inputs become one captured frame. Source bitmaps retained by the current composition and undo share a 40 MP limit; browser decoder memory can still vary.

Yes. It assigns a library photo that is not already active in another visible cell, then leaves remaining cells empty when photos run out. It does not automatically repeat the first photo in every cell. You can deliberately reuse a photo by clicking its library button or dropping it into another cell.

Select a cell using the canvas or Cell menu, then click a library photo to assign it. Repeated assignments keep multiple choices in that cell’s Photos list. Library drag/drop also assigns photos. Swap mode drags photo settings between cells, or use the labelled Swap cell photos control. Removing an active photo does not remove it from the library.

Choose Pan a cell photo to drag with mouse, pen or touch. Use numeric pan/zoom, Fit/Fill and quarter-turn rotation controls for a keyboard alternative. Drag modes capture scrolling over the canvas; Select mode allows normal vertical scrolling. Fit changes reset pan/zoom. Extreme pan or low zoom can expose the background.

Expand grows the selected cell one grid track in a direction and hides fully covered neighbors. A partly overlapping merged neighbor is rejected. Hidden cells remain selectable in the Cell menu and can be shown again. If active cells overlap, later cells draw on top. Reset cell spans restores that template’s original geometry and equal weights while retaining photo lists. Track drag mode or numeric weights from 0.1 to 10 resize proportions.

Spacing is the gap between grid tracks in output pixels. Frame thickness 0 means no outer frame. Corner radius 0 means square photo clips. Background can be solid, a two-color diagonal gradient, a library photo or transparent. Gaps, empty cells and hidden cells reveal the selected background. JPEG composites transparent areas over white.

Yes. Select an overlay from the canvas or Overlay menu, then edit its position, size, rotation, color and opacity. Text/font can be changed for text overlays. Explicit line breaks are retained; there is no automatic wrapping. Up to 20 overlays and 18 supplied line-icon stickers are available. Overlay order follows the list; Move forward advances one layer. Device fonts determine glyph coverage.

The tool handles shortcuts only within its workspace and ignores inputs, textareas, selects and editable content. Ctrl/Cmd+Z and Shift+Ctrl/Cmd+Z undo/redo the composition outside those fields. Ctrl/Cmd+S requests export there. When the canvas has focus, arrow keys nudge a selected overlay by one output pixel, or ten with Shift.

Up to 20 undo steps retain settings and image references; the raster pixels are shared rather than duplicated in every snapshot. Removed photos can remain retained while undo/redo references them. Clear undo history keeps the current composition and releases unused bitmaps. Reset composition is undoable. The project is held in this tab, without project-file export or automatic persistence.

PNG and WebP are encoded from the same native canvas shown in the preview; selection labels and resize guides are on a separate canvas and are excluded. JPEG uses those pixels composited over white. The Actual canvas label gives the export size. Width is 320–4096 px, height 240–4096 px and total area at most 8 MP. Screen size, expanded mode and browser pixel ratio do not change output dimensions.

PNG and JPG are available. WebP appears only after a successful encoding/MIME probe; each export also validates the requested MIME. Quality 0–100 maps to the browser’s encoder setting and is not a measured quality score; PNG ignores it. Output is limited to 96 MiB. No site watermark is added. This does not grant or verify rights to source photos, fonts, logos or other assets, or guarantee print-ready color.

This tool reads your chosen photos and builds the collage in your browser without uploading them for processing. Normal WordPress/site scripts are outside that claim. Only the appearance preference is saved locally; source photos and the project reset after refresh. The Light/Dark/System control changes this tool page; expanded view moves the same workspace into a wider dialog, with Escape and focus restoration.
