Choosing an export format
A circular crop always has corner area outside the circle — what fills that area depends heavily on which format you choose, and not all of them are handled the same way in this tool.

PDF or BMP export shows black corners, not white
Choosing JPG correctly draws a white background behind the circle first — but BMP and PDF output skip that step in this tool, and both formats also lack transparency support, so their corners typically render black.
- Export as JPG or PNG if you need a document-safe circular image
- Use PDF only when the file format itself is what you actually need
I can't make an oval, only a circle
This tool always keeps width and height equal by design — there's no way to unlock an independent aspect ratio here.
- Use the regular Image Cropper if you need a non-1:1 shape
- Zoom and reposition first if the circle is cropping out something important
"Format not supported" alert on upload
The file's type and extension didn't match anything on the accepted list.

Dragging a corner handle feels different from a normal cropper
There are no edge handles here on purpose — every handle resizes both width and height together, since the shape can never become an oval.
- Drag any corner to resize the whole circle uniformly
- Use Crop Diameter for an exact pixel size instead
An animated GIF loses its animation
Cropping draws whichever frame is on screen at that moment onto a canvas, so the exported file is a single still frame.
- Keep the original GIF if animation needs to be preserved
- Use this tool for a static circular crop of the image only
An SVG doesn't look right after cropping
SVG files are rasterized through your browser's own renderer before the circular crop is taken, so unusual SVGs (embedded fonts, external references) may not render exactly as expected.
- Flatten complex SVGs to PNG first if the result looks off
