How this fancy font generator works

    Characters, not fonts

Unicode has extra alphabets made for maths and symbols, like 𝐀 (bold) and 𝒜 (script). The tool swaps each letter for its look-alike, so the style travels wherever you paste it.

    Honest about support

Each style is marked: works almost everywhere, works on most phones, or may show boxes. Letters a style can't change stay normal, and the tool says so.

    Instant and private

The old version sent your text to our server. Now every style is made in your browser as you type, with no waiting and nothing sent.

    How support levels are decided

Bold, italic, script, gothic, outline, typewriter, bubbles and wide letters come from long-established Unicode blocks that current Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac fonts include, so they're marked as working almost everywhere.

Small caps, superscript, dark bubbles, squares and line effects use rarer characters or combining marks. They show on most up-to-date phones, but older devices or some apps can draw boxes or misplace the lines, so check the preview before using them for anything important.

Tips for stylish text that still works

    Looking good

    • Pick one style and stick with it across your profile.
    • Bold sans looks the most like real bold text.
    • Pair a decorated frame with plain letters for gaming names.
    • Save favourites with ☆ so your style stays consistent.

    Staying readable

    • Keep your username, phone and links in plain text.
    • Use "First word only" for names in bios.
    • Check the preview; boxes mean some phones can't show it.
    • Use Make it plain to fix text copied from elsewhere.

    Frequently asked questions

Short answers about compatibility, accessibility and privacy.

    Are these real fonts?

No. They are special Unicode characters that look like bold, script, bubble or gothic letters. Because they are characters, not a font file, you can copy and paste them into Instagram, WhatsApp, X, Facebook and most apps.

Will fancy fonts work in my Instagram bio and name?

Most styles marked "Works almost everywhere" show correctly in Instagram bios, captions, comments and the name field on modern phones. Styles marked "May show boxes" use rarer characters that some older phones can't display, so check the preview on your own phone first.

Are fancy fonts bad for accessibility?

They can be. Screen readers often skip these characters or read them out as maths symbols, so a blind follower may hear nothing or "mathematical bold capital H". Use fancy letters for a word or two of decoration, and keep your name, what you do and how to contact you in plain text. The "First word only" option helps with this.

Can people find me if my name uses a fancy font?

Often not. Search on Instagram and other apps matches normal letters, so a name written in 𝓈𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉 may not show up when people type it. Keep your username and at least part of your name in plain letters.

Why do some letters stay normal?

Some styles don't exist for every character. Italic, script and gothic have no matching numbers, superscript has no capital letters and no q, and Squares and Dark bubbles only have capitals. The tool leaves those characters as they are and tells you.

How do I turn fancy text back into normal text?

Paste it into the box and press Make it plain. The tool converts styled letters, bubbles and lines back into ordinary letters you can edit or search.

    Is my text sent anywhere?

No. All styles are created in your browser as you type, so it works instantly and your text never leaves your device. Only your favourite styles are remembered in this browser.
