Browser technology

How the PNG is built without a server

Everything renders locally using the HTML5 Canvas API — no selections, inputs, or generated files are ever sent to an external server.

What happens when you download

A dedicated offscreen HTML5 canvas is initialized at your chosen item size plus double padding for symmetrical margins.
The canvas background is filled with your chosen solid color or kept as a completely transparent alpha channel.
For icons, the tool uses direct Unicode mapping and ensures font readiness via document.fonts before drawing centered glyphs.
The finished canvas is converted to a native binary Blob and dispatched directly to your browser download manager.

Honest by design

What this tool does — and doesn't

Clear technical specifications and operational limits stated plainly before you begin.

Icon downloads

Uses direct Unicode codepoint mapping and awaits font readiness before drawing to eliminate blank exports.
Icons require an initial Font Awesome stylesheet download from a CDN upon opening the page.

Stylish text accuracy

Character sets are generated from verified Unicode code blocks, eliminating corrupted glyph substitutions.
These are native Unicode symbols rather than custom web fonts, meaning exact glyph rendering depends on your operating system's system font.

Item Color on emoji

Recolors icons and stylized Unicode text characters cleanly to any hexadecimal value.
Does not recolor standard emojis, as operating systems render them as fixed multicolor bitmaps or vector pictographs.

Licensing

Icons are from Font Awesome Free and symbols are public Unicode characters, suitable for personal and commercial work.
Brand logos (such as Discord, Apple, or X/Twitter) remain trademarks of their respective owners and must only represent those products.

Saving your work

Allows unlimited PNG downloads at any time with no rate limits or user accounts.
Does not maintain a server-side creation history; each file must be saved to your device immediately.

Your privacy

Canvas generation and blob export occur entirely on your local machine; zero analytics or files are transmitted.
The page relies on CDN requests for Font Awesome and Google Fonts to load the interface fonts.

Troubleshooting

Common issues & quick fixes

My downloaded icon is blank

Downloads now verify font readiness and rely on an explicit Unicode dictionary before rasterizing.

  • If you opened the page on a slow connection, allow one second for the Font Awesome font file to finish loading

Changing color didn't affect my emoji

Emojis are standardized pictographs rendered by your operating system with fixed color palettes.

  • Use the Icons or Stylish Text tabs if you need exact custom hex coloring

I saw an unexpected character in Stylish Text

All alphabet and numerical sets are generated strictly from designated Unicode mathematical blocks.

  • Refresh the page to ensure you are viewing the latest script version

An icon looks slightly different on another device

Emojis and stylish Unicode characters are shaped by the local operating system's system font.

  • This is standard Unicode behavior; Font Awesome icons remain visually consistent across all platforms

My download has the wrong background

The Transparent Background checkbox takes priority over the background color picker when enabled.

  • Uncheck Transparent Background if you wish to apply your selected solid background hex

My filename looks strange

The exported filename is generated automatically from the selected icon or glyph name.

  • Rename the saved PNG on your device if you require a specific project naming convention

Yes, absolutely. You can drag and drop your downloaded PNG files directly into Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, or any other graphics editor.

Can I use these icons in Canva?

Yes. Since all exports are clean PNG files, you can upload them to your Canva media library and place them into presentations, banners, and social posts.
