How reversing actually works
Reversing fixes the sequence, not the content
Pages keep everything they had: text, images, rotation, links. Only their position in the file changes.
Why scans come out backwards
Many document feeders take the stack from one end, so a pile placed face up can come out last page first. A scanner that only scans one side makes it worse: you scan the fronts, turn the stack over, scan the backs, and the backs arrive in reverse.
Dragging fifty pages into the opposite order by hand is slow and easy to get wrong halfway. Here one choice does it, and every page shows its new and old position before you save. pdf.js draws the previews and pdf-lib saves the file, both in your browser tab, so your PDF isn't uploaded to our server.
Three ways to reverse
Whole document
The last page becomes the first. The fix for a stack fed in the wrong way round.
Only some pages
Type ranges like 5-12. Each one flips in its own place, and pages outside them don't move.
Double-sided scan
Fronts in the first half and backs in the second are woven together: front 1, back 1, front 2, back 2…
Check before you save
Each page shows "was page 12", and Show original order switches back to compare.
How to reverse PDF pages in four steps
Look at the first and last page before choosing: they tell you which fix you need.
Add your PDF
Drop a PDF onto the upload area, or click Select PDF. The pages appear already reversed, so you see the result straight away.
Previews draw as you scroll, so long documents open quickly.

- Whole document: the last page goes first.
- Only some pages: type ranges like 5-12.

Check the new order
Each page shows its new number and "was page …". Use Large previews or open a page full size, and Show original order to compare.
Pages that moved are outlined.
Save and download
Click Save reversed PDF. Page through the saved file, which is drawn from the new PDF itself, rename it if you like, and download.

Reverse rules
What each mode does exactly
Worked examples, so there are no surprises in the saved file.
Whole document
A 6-page file saves as 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Running it twice gives the original order back.
Ranges flip in place
In a 10-page file, 3-6 gives 1, 2, 6, 5, 4, 3, 7 … 10. Ranges can't overlap; a reversed range like 6-3 is pointed out.
Double-sided: backs reversed
An 8-page scan with fronts 1-4 and backs 5-8 saves as 1, 8, 2, 7, 3, 6, 4, 5. Untick the box and it's 1, 5, 2, 6, 3, 7, 4, 8.
Everything else stays
Bookmarks still open the right page, links keep working, and each page keeps its rotation and size. The file is reordered, not rebuilt.
When the order still isn't right
Identify the problem, then use the matching fix.
Backs land after the wrong fronts
The backs were scanned in the same direction as the fronts, not turned over.
Untick "The backs came out last page first" and check the preview again.
Double-sided needs an even page count
There must be one back for every front. An odd count usually means a back was skipped or a blank page dropped.
Rescan the missing side, or add a blank page with Organize PDF, then try again.
The wrong section got reversed
The range was typed from the new order instead of the original one.
Click Show original order and read the page numbers from there.
Pages are in order but upside down
Reversing changes order, not orientation.
Run the saved file through Rotate PDF.
Previews appear slowly on a long PDF
Previews are drawn as you scroll to keep memory low. Heavy scans take longer per page.
Switch to Small previews. The new order applies to pages not drawn yet.
A password-protected PDF won't open
Most encrypted PDFs can't be opened by the in-browser PDF libraries.
Remove the password with Unlock PDF, then add the unlocked copy.
Before you download the reversed PDF
A few checks that prevent a second pass.
Check the first and last pages
If the original's last page is your cover, you need Whole document. If only the middle is wrong, use a range.
Read ranges from the original order
Page numbers in the range box always mean the pages as they are in your file now.
Check two pairs after a double-sided fix
Open pages 1-2 and the last two full size: each back should continue its front.
Reverse before numbering
If you'll add page numbers, fix the order first so the numbers follow it.
Keep the original file
This tool never changes it, so you can always start again with a different mode.
Name the result clearly
A name like statement-in-order.pdf is easier to tell apart from the original later.
Common questions about reversing PDFs

Does this tool upload my PDF to a server?
No. The previews and the reordering both run in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Your PDF is read on your device and is not uploaded to the AllInOneTools server.
How do I reverse only part of a PDF?
Choose Only some pages and type a range such as 5-12. Those pages are flipped in their own place and every other page stays where it was. Several ranges, such as 1-4, 9-12, are each flipped separately.
How do I fix a double-sided scan made on a one-sided scanner?
Scan the fronts, turn the stack over and scan the backs into the same PDF, then choose Double-sided scan. The tool puts each back after its front. Leave The backs came out last page first ticked if you turned the stack over, which is the usual case.
Can I see the new order before saving?
Yes. The pages are shown in the new order as soon as you choose a mode, each with its old page number. Show original order switches back so you can compare, and any page opens full size.
Will reversing affect the quality or the bookmarks of my PDF?
No. The pages are only put in a different order inside the same document, so text, images, rotation, links and bookmarks are kept exactly. Bookmarks still open the page they pointed to.
Can I also delete, rotate or move single pages?
This tool only reverses. To move, delete or add single pages use Organize PDF, and to turn pages use Rotate PDF. Both work on the file you save here.
Is there a page limit?
There is no fixed limit. Previews are drawn as you scroll, so long files open quickly, but very large scans still depend on your device's memory.
