Name ideas pick one to check domains and handles
Domains
From the public RDAP registration database. Always confirm at a registrar before buying.
Social handles
Opens the profile address. If a profile appears, that handle is taken.
How to test it
- Press soap shop, then Generate names. Twelve names appear with meanings and the best pick starred.
- Pick a name. The domains are checked live, and you see which are registered.
- Press the ☆ on names you like to build a shortlist that stays in this browser.
Shared AI: your description goes to our server and then to Google Gemini or OpenRouter. Identical requests are reused for 1 hour.
How this brand name generator works
Names with reasons
Google Gemini, with OpenRouter as backup, suggests 12 names in your style and language: invented words, blends and metaphors, each with a one-line meaning and one marked as the best pick.
A real domain check
Pick a name and the .com, .in, .co, .io and .net domains are looked up in the public RDAP registration database, the same data registrars use. No simulated "available" badges.
Honest about handles
Social usernames can't be checked reliably from outside each app, so you get direct links to open them instead, plus checks for length, numbers and hard-to-say letters.
Check it yourself. Open your browser's developer tools (F12) and choose the Network tab. With the shared AI you'll see requests to our site; with your own key, name ideas come straight from Google or OpenRouter.
Common naming problems
Find yours. Each button sets up the fix.
| Problem | Fix | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Every .com I like is taken | Choose One short word or Playful for invented names, which are more often free. The .in and .co checks show alternatives. | |
| Names sound too generic | Add a few words about your feeling or customers, like "calm, handmade, Pune moms". | |
| I want an Indian-sounding name | Choose Hindi, Hinglish or Gujarati; names stay in English letters so they work as domains. | |
| "The shared AI is busy" | Add your own free Gemini or OpenRouter key and keep generating from your browser. | |
| I've chosen a name. What next? | Write a bio for your new Instagram profile. | Instagram bio |
What makes a strong brand name
A strong name is easy to say, easy to spell after hearing it once, and different from competitors. It hints at your feeling or benefit rather than describing everything you do, so it still fits when you grow.
The domain check uses RDAP, the registration data service that replaced WHOIS. A "registered" result is certain; "no registration found" means nobody holds it right now, but registries can reserve or price some names differently, so confirm before paying.
Naming mistakes to avoid
Problems that are expensive to fix after launch.
Numbers, hyphens and odd spellings get mistyped and lose visitors.
Names close to big brands invite legal trouble.
Too descriptive to trademark, and you outgrow it.
Someone may own the Instagram name. Check first.
Good habits when naming a brand

- Shortlist 5, then sleep on it before deciding.
- Test the shortlist with a few real customers.

- Check what it means in other languages you serve.
After choosing
- Register the domain and main handles the same day.
- File a trademark if you plan to grow.
- Use the exact same spelling everywhere.
- Write a short bio that says what you do.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about domains, handles, trademarks and your data.
Are the domain checks real?
Yes. When you pick a name, the tool asks the public RDAP registration database whether name.com, .in, .co, .io and .net are registered. "No registration found" means nobody has registered it right now, but it could still be reserved, premium-priced or registered a minute later, so confirm at a registrar before you buy.
Does it check Instagram and other usernames?
No tool can check those reliably without logging in, so this one doesn't pretend to. It gives you direct links to instagram.com, x.com, youtube.com and facebook.com with the name filled in; if a profile opens, the handle is taken.
Can I use a name the AI suggests?
The AI is told not to copy well-known brands, but it can't check trademarks. Before you commit, search the name in the IP India trademark register and on Google, and talk to a professional for anything important.
Is the brand name generator free?
Yes. The shared AI gives every visitor 15 free sets of 12 names an hour. If it's busy or you need more, add your own Gemini or OpenRouter key and generate within that key's quota.
What makes a good brand name?
Short, easy to say and spell after hearing it once, no numbers or hyphens, and not too close to a competitor. The name checks here flag length, numbers, hard-to-say letter runs and whether the handle fits Instagram and X.
Can it suggest Hindi or Gujarati names?
Yes. Choose the language and the AI suggests names that sound natural to that audience, written in English letters so they work as domains and handles.
What happens if the shared AI doesn't work?
The tool tries Google Gemini first and OpenRouter second. If both fail, or the hourly limit is reached, it explains why and opens the key panel so you can continue with your own free key.
Is my idea kept private?
With the shared AI, your description goes to our server and then to Google Gemini or OpenRouter, and identical requests are reused for 1 hour. Domain checks send only the name to the RDAP service. Your recent names and shortlist are saved only in this browser.
