How to Play

From first guess to solved word in four steps

⌨️ Type a Five-Letter Word
Use your keyboard or the on-screen keys. Any five-letter combination is accepted, so you never lose a guess to a rejected word.
🎨 Read the Colors
Green tiles are locked in. Yellow letters belong elsewhere in the word. Gray letters are out of the running entirely.
💡 Stuck? Use a Hint
You get 3 hints per game. Each one places a correct letter in its right slot and locks it there. Spend them wisely.
🏆 Solve It in Six
Crack the word within six guesses to grow your streak. Fewer guesses mean a bigger bragging grid when you share your result.

A Century-Old Puzzle,
Reborn for the Browser.

Word guessing games go back further than most people realize. Pen-and-paper versions like Jotto were played decades before computers, and television shows like Lingo brought the format to living rooms in the 1980s. The modern five-letter, six-guess format turned it into a daily ritual for millions.

The appeal is pure logic. There is no luck after the word is chosen — every guess is a question, and the colored tiles are the answer. Good players treat each row like a deduction: place the yellows, eliminate the grays, and let the word reveal itself.

This version removes the waiting. No daily limit, no account wall, no ads between rounds. A fresh word every time you press New Word, three hints when you need them, your streak saved locally, and a copyable result grid for sharing.

Unlimited Rounds
No daily limit. Play one round or fifty in a row — a new word is ready instantly.
3 Hints Per Game
Each hint reveals one correct letter, locked in place. A fair helping hand that never plays the game for you.
Streak Tracking
Wins in a row build your streak, saved locally. Lose a round and it resets — pressure is on.
Shareable Results
Copy your grid as colored emoji squares. Paste it anywhere without spoiling the word.

Winning Strategies

Open With Vowels
First guesses like ADIEU or AUDIO test three or four vowels at once. Knowing which vowels are in the word halves the search space immediately.
Use Common Consonants
R, S, T, L, and N are the most frequent consonants in English. A second guess built from them plus your confirmed vowels finds most words.
Don't Repeat Grays
A gray letter is dead information. Never waste a guess that reuses it — every new guess should test letters you haven't seen.
Save Hints for Row Five
Hints are strongest on your last guess. If you can solve rows one to four on your own, a single hint on row five turns a loss into a win.
