Your video is processed locally in your browser using FFmpeg WASM. The video file is not uploaded to AllInOneTools or sent to a third-party video-processing server.
Workflow

Convert your video in four steps

Drop your file, choose a format, and convert it locally in your browser.

01

Upload video

Drop a file or browse. Format detection checks the file signature first, falling back to extension or MIME type.

02

Choose format

Select from 11 output formats including MP4, WebM, MKV, MOV, AVI, and GIF.

03

Audio options

Retain the original audio track or produce a silent video. GIFs automatically drop audio.

04

Download

Preview the result directly, then download the converted file.

Engineering

How video processing works

What this tool does with your video — and what it deliberately does not.

Zero video upload

FFmpeg WASM runs in your browser. The video file is not uploaded to AllInOneTools or sent to a third-party video-processing server.

File header detection

Input format detection inspects the file header for known container signatures, with automatic fallback to extension and MIME metadata.

Standard codecs

MP4 uses H.264, WebM uses VP8, and AVI uses MPEG-4 encoders selected for broad support across common playback workflows.

Formats

11 output formats

Each output uses a format-specific encoder and container combination suited to common playback and editing workflows.

.mp4

Broad compatibility — H.264 video with AAC audio for common browsers, players, and devices.

video/mp4

.webm

Web / HTML5 — VP8 + Vorbis at a fixed video bitrate for browser-based playback.

video/webm

.mkv

Matroska container — flexible structure supporting H.264 video and AAC audio.

video/x-matroska

.mov

Apple QuickTime container — useful for workflows that require MOV output.

video/quicktime

.avi

Windows legacy — MPEG-4 video and MP3 audio for older media software.

video/x-msvideo

.wmv

Windows Media — WMV2 video with WMA audio for legacy Windows platforms.

video/x-ms-wmv

.flv

Flash Video container — H.264 video with AAC audio.

video/x-flv

.ts

MPEG transport stream — H.264 video with AAC audio used in broadcast workflows.

video/mp2t

.3gp

Mobile legacy — H.264 baseline profile with low-bitrate AAC audio.

video/3gpp

.ogv

Ogg container — Open-source Theora video codec with Vorbis audio.

video/ogg

.gif

Animated image — 12 fps, 480px wide, Lanczos scaling, infinite loop, silent.

Scope

What it does, and what it does not

See what the converter supports and where browser limitations apply.

What it does

  • Convert supported video inputs between 11 formats locally in your browser.
  • Keep or remove audio tracks per conversion.
  • Detect input format using file signatures with filename and MIME fallback.
  • Inspect duration, resolution, codecs, and audio presence.
  • Preview input video immediately and preview converted result before download.
  • Convert supported video inputs to animated GIF.
  • Process conversion locally once engine files are loaded in browser memory.

What it does not

  • Process very large files consistently because browser memory limits can cause slowdowns or failures.
  • Edit, trim, or crop videos (a dedicated video editor is required).
  • Convert multi-track subtitles, alternative audio streams, or chapter markers.
  • Run in older browsers without WebAssembly or Web Worker support.
Troubleshooting

Common issues and fixes

Quick answers to the most frequent problems.

Engine does not load

The FFmpeg WASM engine requires WebAssembly and Web Workers. Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari with WebAssembly enabled. Verify that network firewalls or strict Content-Security-Policies are not blocking WASM execution or script retrieval.

Conversion fails on large files

Browsers have memory limits. Files around 500 MB or larger can cause slowdowns or out-of-memory errors depending on the browser, device, and available memory. For very large files, a desktop video converter may be more suitable because it is not subject to the same browser memory constraints.

Output has no audio

Either 'Without audio' was selected, the source video has no audio track, or the output format (like GIF) does not support audio streams. Review the audio track options before converting.

Format detection differs from extension

Format detection checks the file header first and falls back to the filename or MIME type when a known signature is not found. If a file was mislabeled, the detected container reflects the binary header.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers about privacy, formats, performance, and browser limitations.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. Your video is processed locally in your browser using FFmpeg WASM. The video file is not uploaded to AllInOneTools or sent to a third-party processing server.

Which video formats are supported?

Input: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, FLV, WMV, MPEG, TS, 3GP, OGV, and GIF. Output: MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP8), MKV, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, TS, 3GP, OGV, and animated GIF.

Why is my first conversion slow?

The FFmpeg WASM engine is about 30 MB and is downloaded when first initialized. Later conversions can start sooner when engine files are already cached by your browser. Conversion speed also depends on video length, resolution, and your device's CPU and memory.

Can I convert large videos?

Browser memory limits apply. Processing files around 500 MB or larger can cause slowdowns or out-of-memory errors depending on the browser, device, and available memory. For very large files, a desktop video converter may be more suitable because it is not subject to the same browser memory constraints.

Can I remove audio from a video?

Yes. When choosing an output format, select 'Without audio' to produce a silent video. This is useful for creating looping backgrounds or reducing file size.

Can I convert video to animated GIF?

Yes. Select the GIF output format. The converter downscales to 480px width at 12 fps with Lanczos filtering and loops indefinitely. Audio is excluded because GIF does not support an audio stream.
