Private Note Sender - Share Encrypted, Self-Destructing Note

Private Note Sender Share Self-Destructing Encrypted Notes

Create a secret note, protect it with a password, and share it via a unique link that expires automatically.

About Encrypted Links

What is a Private Note Sender?

It's a tool that lets you share sensitive information securely. Your note is encrypted with a password, and the encrypted data is stored directly inside a special link. The note itself is never stored on a server.

True Client-Side Security

When you create a private note, the tool bundles your text and an expiration timestamp. It then uses your password to encrypt this entire package with strong AES encryption. The resulting ciphertext is placed in the URL after a '#' symbol (the "hash fragment").

This part of the URL is special: it's never sent to the web server. Only the browser on the receiving end can see it. When someone opens the link, the JavaScript in their browser prompts for the password, decrypts the data, checks if it has expired, and—if successful—displays the note. Your secret message never touches a database or server logs.

Why Choose Our Private Note Sender?

1

Serverless & Zero-Knowledge

We have zero knowledge of your note's content or your password. The data is encrypted and decrypted only in the browsers of the sender and receiver.

2

Built-in Expiration

Set your note to expire after a certain period. The link will no longer be readable after the time limit, adding another layer of security.

3

Strong Password Enforcement

Our real-time validation ensures you use a strong password, which is critical for protecting your encrypted note from brute-force attacks.

4

Free and Simple to Use

Sharing a secure message is as easy as creating a note, setting a password, and copying a link. No sign-ups, no fees.

Step-by-Step Guide

How to Share a Private Note

Follow these simple steps to create and share a secure, self-destructing message.

1

Create Your Note

Write or paste your secret message in the text box. Create a strong password that meets all the requirements, and choose an expiration period for the link.

2

Generate and Share the Link

Click the "Generate Secure Link" button. Copy the generated link and send it to your recipient. **Important:** Share the password separately through a different, secure channel (e.g., in person, over a phone call).

3

Recipient Views the Note

When the recipient opens the link, they will be prompted to enter the password. If the password is correct and the link has not expired, the secret note will be revealed to them.

Quick Tips for Sharing Securely

Separate Link & Password

Never send the link and the password in the same message or email. This defeats the purpose of the security.

Use a Strong Password

The security of your note depends entirely on the strength of your password. Follow the guidelines provided by the tool.

Choose the Right Expiration

For highly sensitive information, choose a shorter expiration time like 1 hour to minimize the window of exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get instant answers to common questions about our Private Note Sender.

Where is my note stored?

It isn't stored on our servers. Your encrypted note is stored directly in the link itself (in the URL hash). This means the only copies of your note are the ones you share. We have no access to it.

Is the note really deleted after it expires?

The note doesn't get "deleted" from a server because it was never there. The expiration is enforced by the browser. When someone opens an expired link, the code checks the timestamp and refuses to decrypt it. The data in the link is still there, but it is inaccessible without changing the computer's clock.

What happens if I forget the password?

The note becomes permanently unreadable. There is no way to recover the note without the exact password it was encrypted with.

Is it safe to save links to my history?

The history feature is convenient but comes with a risk: your password is stored in your browser's local storage. This is not encrypted. **Do not use the history feature on a public or shared computer.** Always clear your history if you are concerned.
