Upload Images & Set Your Canvas
First, get your photos into the editor and choose a canvas shape. Begin by dragging and dropping your photos onto the Upload Zone, or click it to select files from your device. Your uploaded images will appear in the "Uploaded Images" tray directly below the main preview.
- Choose an Aspect Ratio: In the left panel, select a canvas shape. Common choices include 1:1 (Square) for Instagram posts, 9:16 (Story) for social media stories, or 16:9 (Widescreen) for cover photos.
- Select a Layout Template: For a quick start, pick from dozens of pre-made Layout Templates. Simply click a thumbnail, and the grid will appear in the preview window.
- Create a Custom Grid: If templates aren't enough, go to the "Layouts" tab below the preview. Find the "Custom Grid" creator, enter the number of columns and rows you want (e.g., 4 columns and 3 rows), and click Create to generate your own unique structure.
Populate & Style Your Collage
Drag your photos from the "Uploaded Images" tray and drop them into the cells of your grid. Once your images are in place, use the control panels on the left to fine-tune the overall look:
- Adjust Spacing & Corners: Use the Spacing slider to control the width of the gaps between images. Use the Roundness slider to make the corners of each photo cell more or less curved.
- Add a Border: Enable the Border toggle to add a frame around the entire collage. You can then control its thickness and color.
- Set the Background: Navigate to the Background tab. Here, you can select a solid color, apply a stylish two-tone gradient, or even upload your own custom image to serve as the backdrop for your collage.
- Add Text & Clipart: Use the "Text" and "Clipart" tabs to add creative overlays. You can change their color, resize and rotate them using the "Selected Item" panel, and drag them anywhere on your collage.
Advanced Controls: Mastering Cells and Images
Our editor gives you two layers of control: you can edit the Grid Cells themselves, or you can edit the Image inside a cell. Hover over any cell to see its action menu.
1. Controlling the Grid Cells
- Resize Proportions: To change cell sizes, move your mouse over the gap between two cells. When the resize cursor appears, click and drag to change the row or column size.
- Merge Cells: To create unique layouts, hover on a cell and use the arrow buttons ( ) to expand it into an adjacent space.
- Hide a Cell: To create negative space, hover on a cell and click the Hide Cell icon . The cell will disappear, revealing the background. You can restore all hidden cells with the "Reset Cell Sizes" button.
2. Editing the Image Inside a Cell
Once an image is in a cell, you have a full suite of editing tools in the hover menu:
- Pan / Reposition: Simply click and drag the image itself to move it around within its frame.
- Zoom: Use the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons, or for faster control, just use your mouse scroll wheel while hovering over the image.
- Rotate: Click the Rotate Left and Rotate Right buttons to turn your image in 90-degree steps.
- Fit vs. Fill: Click the Fit/Fill icon to toggle how the image sits in the cell. "Fill" (the default) makes the image cover the entire cell, while "Fit" makes the entire image visible within the cell.
- Cycle Images: If you drag multiple photos into one cell, Next and Previous arrows will appear, allowing you to cycle through them.
- Reset Image: Made too many changes? Click the Reset icon to return the image to its default position, zoom, and rotation.
- Remove Image: Click the Remove icon to take the current photo out of the cell, leaving the cell empty for a new image.
Finalize and Save Your Project

- Name Your File: Under "Export Settings," give your collage a memorable name.
