How to Play Carrom

From setup to final pocket in seven simple steps

👥 Choose Players
Click Play Game Now, pick 2, 3 or 4 players and enter each player's name. Each one is assigned a fixed side of the board for the whole match.
📍 Position the Striker
Use the slider below the board to place the striker anywhere along your baseline. The striker always spawns on your fixed side.
🎯 Aim and Shoot
Press and drag backwards from the striker to aim — the farther you pull, the more power. Release to shoot. The dotted line shows your direction and strength.
🪙 Score Points
White and black coins are worth 10 points each and the red queen is worth 50 points. Pocket any coin and you get another turn.
⚠️ Avoid Fouls
Pocketing the striker is a foul that costs 20 points. Plan your angle carefully to keep the striker on the board after contact.
🔄 Turn Rotation
Turns rotate clockwise around the board: Player 1 → Player 2 → Player 3 → Player 4 → Player 1. Your side never changes.
🏆 Win the Game
When the board is cleared, the player with the highest score wins. Ties are announced as draws — nobody leaves empty-handed.

A Century-Old Game,
Rebuilt for the Browser.

Carrom originated in the Indian subcontinent and has been played on wooden boards in homes, clubs and tournaments for well over a hundred years. The rules are simple — flick a striker to pocket coins — but mastering the angles is a lifelong pursuit.

Our web version keeps the soul of the original: a dark wooden frame, cream playing surface, red queen in the center, and the satisfying clack of coin collisions. The physics are tuned to feel like a real board — rebounds, friction, and pocket drops all behave the way you expect.

Two, three or four players can share the same device, each with their own fixed side of the board. Voice announcements call every turn and the winner, and you can mute both sound and voice at any time.

Winning Strategies

Control the Center
The queen sits in the middle for a reason — coins near the center have the most pocket angles. Early shots that break the formation toward your side give you follow-up opportunities.
Watch the Striker
A 20-point foul erases two white coins. Before every shot, visualize where the striker will end up after contact — soft shots often leave it safe, hard shots risk pockets.
Bank Off the Walls
Direct shots are obvious — and so are the blocks opponents set up. Bank shots off the frame reach coins that are otherwise shielded and surprise everyone at the table.
Save the Queen for Cover
The queen is worth five white coins. Don't rush it on an open shot — pocket it when you can also cover it with a follow-up coin on the same turn for maximum impact.
